Director of Commercial Real Estate Services

Jim Robinson is experienced in many facets of the real estate industry.  He is experienced in overseeing the maintenance of building systems, land use and zoning, platting, site civil engineering, and property asset management optimization.

Jim Robinson is an Army veteran and accomplished Professional Engineer who recently served in the formidable role of Director of Public Works for the Consolidated City of Jacksonville, Florida - the largest city by area in the continental United States.

As Director, Mr. Robinson oversaw more than 500 employees and a $230 million budget.  Public Works provides services to the city’s 850,000 residents and maintains its massive infrastructure, including more than 3,000 miles of roads and nine million square feet of public building space – all spread across 840 square miles.

The North Carolina native came to his City position following 30 years in the private sector.  From his beginnings as an associate engineer, Mr. Robinson has held senior management positions in four professional service firms, including experience at business startup, business growth, and mergers/acquisition.   He describes himself as having “creative perseverance” as well as being both a problem seeker and a problem solver.

Mr. Robinson’s professional career began as a teaching and research assistant as he pursued his master’s degree at N.C. State University.  He then honorably served in the rank of Captain as Highway Traffic Engineer in the Military Traffic Management Command for the United States Army.

While Mr. Robinson has achieved great professional success, including being named the 2013 Northeast Florida Engineer of the Year, he believes greatly in giving back to his community.  His current and recent involvement in the community includes:

  • United Way Tocqueville Society

  • United Way Campaign Cabinet

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentor

  • City Council Candidate 2011

  • Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2007

  • Board Member, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida
